Message from IAWPCO President

May 2021

As I sit here and write my first President ‘s message, I realize how truly honored and exited I am about my term and serving the IAWPCO.  We just finished our Annual IWPC conference, which was the first all virtual conference in our organization’s history.  Please keep in mind you can still watch the presentations on the Whova platform until late June.  While the virtual platform wasn’t the first choice for a conference, it provided a much-needed resource for obtaining CEU’s for operators across the State.
I would like to personally congratulate all of our 2020 award winners.  We had a tremendous list of nominees to choose from this year, making the winning recipients extremely difficult to select.  The COVID19 pandemic has presented many challenges for our industry and all us of individually.  As we move forward through the upcoming year, it is my hope that some form of normalcy is regained.   As of now, all 2021 Regional conferences in October are being planned for in-person meetings.
I would like to personally thank Edgar Mendoza for serving as our President for the past year.  Edgar put a lot of work into our newly designed website.   Please renew you IAWPCO memberships on the website.  This will help us keep better track of our members and provide the best opportunity for us to reach out to our members on a regular basis.
Please help me in making this this year one of reuniting with our fellow wastewater professionals!  Bring along someone new to every meeting that we have chance to host and introduce them to as many people as you can.  We need to pass along the rich history of our organization and the pride that many of us feel to be involved with such a great group of operators!
